Dear Family of God at Blessed Savior,

I pray, as always, that this newsletter finds you safe, healthy, faithful, and thankful -- and especially, BLESSED BY THE LORD.

There’s a story of a little girl who on the way home from church told her mother that the Pastor’s sermon confused her.  Her mother wondered what could have confused her.  The girl asked, “Didn’t he say that God is bigger than us?”  “Yes,” her mother said, “God is bigger than us.”

The girl then asked, “Didn’t he also say that God lives within us?”

“Why, Yes, he did say that.  God does live in us.”

“Well then, if God is bigger than us, and he lives in us, wouldn’t he show through?”

Matthew 5:14-16 says:

14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Jesus tells us that He is the light of the world, the light that no darkness can overcome.  But He also tells us that we are to reflect that light to others in what we say and do.

How can we do that, you ask?  It can be as simple as lending a helping hand to someone.  It can be in how we try to be slow to anger and quick to listen.  It can be in how we put the best construction on everything and refrain from spreading gossip.  It’s sometimes in the little things that we do that others see Christ in us. May we take every opportunity that we are given to share His love with others.

In Service of Christ,

Pastor Roeglin
