Brothers and Sisters in Christ, There are so many exciting events happening here at Blessed Savior that I don’t know which one to tell you about first. Let me start first with two ways that you will be able to support the ministries here without it costing you a penny. The first is an internet search engine called “Goodsearch”. This works just like “Google” or “Ask” but for every search that you do the church will receive a penny. This doesn’t sound like much but these pennies soon add up to dollars, with limited participation we have already earned over $12 in three months. If you are interested in using “Goodsearch” go to www.goodsearch.com and type in Blessed Savior Lutheran Church as your charity. You can even put “Goodsearch” on your tool bar. Please pass this information to relatives and friends. The voters assembly this past Sunday approved the “Scrip” fund raising program and they also voted Don Kane to be the program coordinator. The “Scrip” program is very simple. You will have the opportunity to buy gift cards for restaurants, groceries, department stores, gas stations, etc at face value. A $25 card for Shell costs you $25 and is good for $25 of gas but the company that we purchase the cards from charges us less than $25. The percentage of discount varies from company to company and ranges from 2% to 18% or more. We are still working on how this program will be implemented here at Blessed Savior, hopefully it will be organized by the time that you are reading this newsletter. Please look for further information at the Welcome Desk and participate on a regular basis. The Resource Center was moved at the end of April and the Welcome Desk was put in place. The plan for the Welcome Desk area includes bulletin boards where church organizations can post information on events and also a bulletin board welcoming new members with pictures and biographical information. There are also plans to put a table and chairs by the stained glass window to create a small seating area. This will be done as funds become available, see me if you would like to donate to this project. Other exciting happenings include Friday Fun Nights, Family Movie Nights, greater participation in LiGHTS and MOBS, Wednesday Night Bible Study, a young adult internet forum for members and their friends which is monitored by Pastor Roeglin, and results coming from the planning and vision committee. What an exciting time to become or stay involved here at Blessed Savior. God Bless, Vicar Schultz
