Dear Family of God at Blessed Savior,

I pray, as always, that this newsletter finds you safe, healthy, faithful, and thankful -- and especially, BLESSED BY THE LORD.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”   Ephesians 3:20-21

St. Paul wrote these words from prison.  Earlier in the chapter he says, “Although I am less than the least of all of God’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”  Ephesians 3:8.  We know Paul’s history.  We know that before he was one of God’s greatest Evangelists and teachers, Paul was a persecutor and killer of Christians.  So Paul knew first hand about the power of God.  He knew that God had the power to change him from an absolute enemy of Jesus into a tremendous instrument of God, used to bring many to the faith.

Challenges are not foreign in the lives of Christians or in the life of the Christian Church.  There are so many ups and downs in life, and sometimes it seems that there are many more downs than ups.  It’s in these times especially that we cannot forget the words from verse 20 above:  God is able to do IMMEASURABLY more than we can ask or even imagine.  God is not limited by anything.  He has the power to right all wrongs, and heal all diseases, and turn all disasters into blessings.

It is not surprising, considering the situation our country is in today, that we are facing some challenges, financial and otherwise, at Blessed Savior.  However, there is nothing that we are facing that is too insurmountable, too challenging, too impossible for our God.  The Lord calls us to trust, to depend, to lean on HIM completely.  And He promises that He will never leave us in this problem or any other situation we may be facing.

Let me encourage you, brothers and sisters in Christ, to Pray about this and every other situation in your lives.  Pray for our church leaders, that they might be led by Christ.  Pray for our Sunday School teachers – they are all precious gifts from God.  Pray for each other.  Pray in Thanksgiving and Praise.  Pray for help in times of need.  Prayer is too often left as a last resort – when we see nothing left to do.  And yet prayer should be the first thing we do, something we do all day, AND the last thing we do everyday.  In other words, prayer is our first, last, and everything in between.  God has promised to continue to be with us and bless us every day.  And every day, He fulfills that promise in all things.

In Service of Jesus Christ,

Pastor Roeglin
