Mother's Day/Peanut Butter and Jelly Please help stock the Concordia Seminary Food Bank with Peanut Butter and Jelly. During the month of May, Thrivent and LiGHTS, formerly Esther Society, will be sponsoring the collection of peanut butter and jelly for the seminary food bank. Please place all donations on the table in the back of the church. The seminary food bank especially needs peanut butter and jelly during the summer months when the seminarian's children are not in school.
A new grief support group class is getting ready to start up Blessed Savior Grief support group classes
When: Saturday mornings March 29, 2008 10:30 am to 12 noon Where: Blessed Savior fellowship hall 2615 Schackelford Road, Florissant, MO 63031 Why? To learn the different stages of grief and what the Bible has to say about sorrow and grieving. To learn where we find comfort.
Who is this grief support group classes for? Everyone who has had a loss in their life . Anyone who would like to learn, grow and fellowship with other people who have had losses in their life and share, comfort and find comfort in the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the Holy Bible. Even if you feel you are not grieving please come to support other Christians that are.
How many weeks do the class sessions take? 7 weeks and how long is each class session 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on class participation. The first class session you will get a folder to put all your papers. Each class session you will be given papers for that class session so please bring the folder to every class session. If at all possible please try to make all the class sessions so you will not miss any of the sessions or the class participation.
The first session covers: Group process, grief, mourning, and reconciliation We open with prayer, we read from the Bible, we have our class session and we end with prayer. The second class session covers: Communication with family and friends The third class session covers: Pain & Sadness-Confrontation & Escape The fourth class session covers: Caring for yourself The fifth class session covers: Hidden anger The sixth class session covers: Guilt The seventh class session covers: Reconciliation and wraps everything up that we have learned in the other 6 class sessions.

If you are in need of a babysitting please let Dawn Leppert know as soon as possible so babysitting arrangements can be made.
