                                                   April, 2008

Dear Family of God at Blessed Savior,

I pray, as always, that this newsletter finds you safe, healthy, faithful, and thankful -- and especially, BLESSED BY THE LORD.

John 14:1-6

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. [2] In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. [4] You know the way to the place where I am going."

[5] Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

[6] Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

What comforting words from our Savior!  At the beginning of next month, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Ascension.  In many ways we can understand the disciples and why they were standing looking up into the sky after Jesus disappeared from their sight. We understand because, in some ways, we wish He was still here on earth.

Oh, we have His Word and we know that He lives in our hearts, but we wish He was right here on earth talking to us, telling us plainly how we should live our lives and answering all of our tough questions.

And yet we know that He is with us and promises to help us through our difficult days and rejoice with us in our great days.  And we always know that there is a day sometime in our future, when He will reach down and take us into His arms forever.  How blessed we truly are!

In Christ,

Pastor Roeglin
